As a lifelong resident of Michigan, Julie Foley has been in the architecture industry since starting college and taking her first step onto a construction site in 2003. She earned a five year Masters of Architecture degree from the University of Detroit Mercy in 2009. Continuing with her education, Julie earned a Construction Documents Technology (CDT) certification from CSI in 2020. She is an active member and volunteers for a variety of professional organizations including CSI’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force, authors tests questions for CSI exams, and an active member of ASTM focusing on Division 07.

Julie’s career began in the experiential and events marketing industry with modified architectural projects. Not only was she helping with logistic planning of trade shows but also designing and engineering construction documents for the booths and mobile marketing events. This transitioned to architectural positions focusing on educational, high end retail, industrial, automotive architecture, and specification writing. Her passion for project documentation and coordination translates well onto a construction site, as well.

When Julie isn’t getting her boots dirty on a job site, studying for her next certification, or earning continuing education credits, she enjoys time with her family, pets, and reading. Regardless of what she’s working on, she will stop and support any individuals in their personal and professional journey. She’s passionate about life and helping others succeed.
